OCCUPANT OR INMATE | A Neville Goddard Lecture
OCCUPANT OR INMATE Neville Goddard 11/22/1966 Tonight’s subject is “Occupant or Inmate.” An occupant established title to property by dwelling in it and is free to come and go as he chooses. An inmate is confined. Whether it be a prison or asylum, the inmate is restrained by law, yet he is just as free as the occupant, but he does not know it. Now, Christ is what God means by man, and if you…

Lowkey feel like lena trusted supergirl the most during her evil era. Just picturing her little face when she said “supergirl will save me” whilst plotting her demise like….. 1.) sexy … 2.) she didn’t even question it. She just jumped

"not all men" but not in a men's rights way, in a "it's important to remember that men aren't the only perpetrators of cruelty, abuse, and evil and that subconsciously or consciously training yourself to view men as inherently evil and everyone else as inherently safe inadvertently puts you in a position where you're both vulnerable to attack or harm from people you otherwise wouldn't suspect, AND causes you to limit the number of allies you might have in a time of need" kind of way.
#This is why I worry a lot about young women (teens and twenties) who seek comfort and validation in r//adf//em circles. Many of them have#been hurt through rape or abuse—commonly at the hands of fathers/brothers/uncles or otherwise trusted adults—and have decided that men must#be cruel because both they and their female/female + queer friends have similar stories of abuse. So they seek out others who share this#belief but in doing so they make themselves vulnerable to further abuse and manipulation. I haven't really observed r//adf//em circles long#enough to be able to say what I'm about to say with certainty but I would put money on the idea that being a RF on social media shares the#same hallmarks as being in a cult because the behavior of the adherents is far too similar than that of tradwives or any other modern cult.#Other RF's use the hurt and abuse these young women have experienced and twist and manipulate their truth to foster a sense of#us-against-them cruelty against a population that could in actuality be their fiercest allies. It's such a vicious and relentless cycle.#That's why when I see RF's on here all I feel is pity — both for the cruelty and abuse they've witnessed and suffered but ALSO for the way#they've allowed that abuse to be weaponized against them... many before they were too young to realize it was even happening. We as a#society have got to get better at protecting our young girls and women from r//adf//em ideology. I don't even mean that in a#“destroy the patriarchy” kind of way because that's such a lofty and disorganized goal. I mean it in a “we have to go into uncomfortable#spaces and show these girls love and empathy because right now the only people validating them are people who use their hate and mistrust#against them and if we want to save our young girls and Queer sisters from this pipeline we have to do the dirty work“ kind of way.#But anyway.#jack.txt

The first time I watched Arcane, the framing of Vander's and Silco's ideological clash led me to initially assume that, when Vander attempted to kill Silco, it was because Silco had grown so 'extreme' in his views/actions that Vander became disillusioned and ultimately tried to kill him to prevent him from carrying out some course of action that Vander saw as 'going too far'. The season was notably vague on what exactly was the catalyst for the attempted murder, and I think it's reasonable to say that my kneejerk assumption about the situation was indeed the version of events that the show itself seemed to want viewers to believe.
That is to say, the show itself seemed to want viewers to believe, at least for now, that Silco must have crossed some kind of moral event horizon (or imminently intended to) that was so big and so bad that Vander saw fit to kill him for being, essentially, Too Much.
The thing that makes me hesitant to believe that that's the entire truth of what happened, or that Silco unequivocally """earned""" the attempt on his life by becoming too dangerous (too radicalized?) in Vander's eyes, is simply the fact that the very first thing we see Vander do on-screen is beat an Enforcer to death, with gauntlets, in front of freshly orphaned children. It's communicated visually in that sequence that that kind of violence was the currency Vander had dealt in for a long time; and that his choice at that moment to cast down his gauntlets and walk away from the smouldering battleground (literally and figuratively) with Vi and Powder in tow marked a significant turning point in the way that he engaged with the world.
In light of that, it just seems like the natural follow-up question is, "Okay -- if Vander was still down for leading a violent insurrection, beating people to death with his own two hands, etc. right up until this moment here, then what the fuck did Silco do that was enough to make even him go, 'come here, naughty rat man, it's murder time'?"
This isn't "proof" or "evidence" that Silco and Vander couldn't simply have had a violent ideological split that culminated in attempted murder by any stretch. I just find the overall framing of the situation odd in a way that makes me think there's more to the tale than what the show has thus far implied.
(For instance: perhaps some kind of external pressure which forced Vander into a bitter choice, similar in spirit to the "we both have our shitty parts to play -- get me Jinx, and I'll give you your nation of Zaun" deal Silco was later faced with? The difference being that Vander sacrificed Silco [or attempted to] in favor of whatever was to be gained by doing so; whereas Silco recognized that he had arrived at the same precipice Vander once had, and ultimately couldn't do to Jinx what had been done to him?)

I remember when I was watching the twewy anime for the first time and for some reason that one scene where Sho's standing on a ledge above the Udagwa Backstreets waiting for Joshua and Neku to show up while posed like some cheesy comic book villain was when I was first like "Oh he's aromantic isnt he"

The clear and certain truth no man has seen nor will there be anyone who knows about the gods and what I say about all things; for even if, in the best case, someone happened to speak what has been brought to pass, nevertheless, he himself would not know.

"You speak as if you are nothing without Mystra, wizard, you forget that the rebuffing of her affections do not define you and your person. You are more than that, more than this."
Minthara is a curious woman, he thinks. For the longest time, from the nightmare at the grove to her rescue from the cult, she had seemed -- at least in parts! -- a monstrous tale. She was the shadow at the doorway, but an ill-omened terror to trouble one's mind. Yet, she has shifted since then, both changed and altered like a portrait in the light. Here, her colors boasted layers and her features carried depth, and where she used to stand darkly as little past penumbra, now, right here, she is all a mural.
Yes. Complexity and vibrance. Intrigue and secrets. She talks pragmatically, her kindness labeled wisdom, and Gale, bewildered, peers right up.
"I--" Um. "Goodness, you would see so much in me," he manages. It's astonishing. "At times, I'd wonder if my woeful sight in comparison is but one of those limits that'd plague humanity." To see his character in the way she would... Struck, Gale, book open, can only stare. Here, with his reading mote glimmering about them, she stands starkly, lit, and not a hint of derision in that bold, bold gaze. He feels a twinge undressed, sat there at his tent as he harbors his heartache. Few have yet approached him, Mystra's foul missive still swirling in his skull. She's the first dissenting voice, too strong in character to let him wallow, and though it'd been space he had asked for and the fearsome quiet -- this, he confesses, is what he needs. Yes. A steadying voice. A steadfast presence. He breathes. What does she see? Forgetting his book, Gale shuts it slowly. "You're seldom unsure of anything. Of that tremendous host of qualities you possess, I'd argue confidence rests chiefly among them." His brows furrow, eyes wet. "It's almost enough to make a wizard believe."
